Phytomega, A Natural Blood Thinner

The reason Phytomega works is because it is an essential fatty acid (((EFA))) From what I have heard it contains omega 3 fatty acids. That is the EFA that people do NOT get enough of. We get too much 6 and 9 and not enough 3.

Basically you could take any product from a good company as long as it has Omega 3's in it and see results. But you must take it consistently. Fish oil and flax see oil both contain Omega 3's. Look for products that carry only Omega 3's and not Omega 6 and 9. They are also good for you but most people already get too much of them. I work at a Health Food Store. EFA's are good fats. Good fats destroy bad fats. Humans need good fats in their diets to maintain their health. Good fats are also good for hair and skin and are natural anti-inflammatories. (((arthritis))) There are so many good things that Omega 3's can do to support your good health!!!

I also believe that Phytomega has plant sterols in it. Also very good for maintaing healthy cholesterol levels. Also other companies have this by itself too. However finding these both together in another brand might not be as easy. Phytomega looks like a great product to include in a healthy living lifestyle. I checked out the price and it looks pretty reasonable. If I had this product in my store I would definately suggest it to people.

Check with a doctor is because omega 3's/fish oils are natural blood thinners. if you aren't taking any other prescriptions, aren't going to have surgery and are in good health than you shouldn't have any problems.

Spider Veins

I do not take the ProvexCV ~only because I am a nursing mother. I don't think it would hurt a darn thing but the fact is because there is not enough information on herbs (Ginko Biloba) it is recommended to avoid while nursing :-s

My husband has reduced his high blood pressure considerably with ProvexCV! He does not take any blood pressure medication (prescription or otherwise) the only thing he takes is ProvexCV and Replenex.

I take the Provex and have to say it is amazing as well! Do you know that it has greatly reduced the visible signs of my spider veins?!!! Is that crazy or what?!!!! Gotta love our Vitality Line! My 13 year old son was "loosely" diagnosed with Juvenille Rhematoid Arthritis in Feb. of this year. We immediately started him on Replenex and he has had ZERO attacks since!

If You Think Phytomega's Good Try ProvexCV

I took ProvexCV for 2 months before beginning my Daily for Life including Phytomega. I went to have my chloresterol taken (For which my MD said I'd have to take pravachol forever!) to use as a guideline to measure what the Phytomega does.

Well, after 2 months of Provex, my chloresterol was BELOW normal. ProvexCV is made for general heart health, but since I've been taking it, I've had not a SINGLE disabling spell (I used to have them AT LEAST WEEKLY, more commonly bi-weekly, and they'd last a couple to 3 or 4 days.) That was 4 months ago! Nor has my Asthma acted up. I've also gotten off 95% of the PRN meds I was taking for other unrelated things.

ProvexCV

For several years now, ProvexCV's combination of heart-healthy ingredients, including grape seed, grape skin, quercetin, bilberry, ginkgo biloba, and its exclusive enzyme blend has helped

(1) reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol oxidation in the bloodstream and
(2) inhibit blood platelet aggregation—two of the leading causes of heart disease.

Since the 1990s, Melaleuca's in-house team has led the effort in partnership with Dr. John Folts, a renowned cardiovascular researcher at the University of Wisconsin. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Folts is credited with being the first to document the positive effect of aspirin on arterial blood clotting. With aspirin, it took 20 years from the time Dr. Folts discovered and documented the impact it has on platelet activity before the Bayer Company could make the heart-health claim on their label.

The development of ProvexCV has been a thorough process, involving live-human testing and measurement, requiring months of effort to document and analyze the research data. Traveling the globe, Melaleuca scientists have found that different strains of grapes provided widely varying levels of flavonoid activity, particularly in regards toa group of flavonoids known as proanthocyanidins. Certain proanthocyanidins have been found to be 10 times more powerful than vitamin E in antioxidant activity, and Melaleuca has protected its right to the best sources on the market.

Benefit from Red Wine Without the Alcohol with the "Secret" Health Promoting Properties of Grape Seed Extract

The following is from GreatLife magazine, Feb. '99

We finally have an explanation for the so-called French Paradox, the fact that the French have a lower incidence of heart disease than Americans even though they eat oodles of fat. This has been attributed to their daily consumption of red wine, but no one knew what provided the protection. The secret seems to be in the grapes' seeds. Substances called oligoproanthocyanins (OPCs), found in the seeds of all red grapes give red wine its health-promoting properties... Grape seed extract (and grape skin extract) is often called OPCs.

Between 1972 and 1978, extensive research was conducted in France on grape seed extract; results showed that OPCs are readily absorbed when taken orally. OPCs have an affinity for connective tissue, which surrounds blood vessels, organs and muscles, and gives structural integrity to joints, tendons and ligaments. Healthy connective tissue is strong but flexible. Studies have shown grape seed extract keeps connective tissue from becoming stiff... Grape seed extract can be useful in the treatment of varicose veins and easy bruising. Sronger blood vessel connective tissue also seems to help lessen the formation of arterial plaque... Interestingly, if OPCs are being consumed, the body requires less vitamin C to make healthy connective tissue...

However, recent research on OPCs has focused primarily on their antioxidant action. In fact, grape seed extract's ability to defend against the damaging effects of free radicals is significantly greater than the antioxidant activity of vitamin A or vitamin E. Free radical damage has been implicated as a factor in rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, heart disease, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, emphysema and other chronic degenerative diseases.

Grape seed extract also appears to work as an anti-inflammatory and may be beneficial for inflammatory and allergic conditions... Grape seed extract has been proven effective in reducing swelling from surgery and sports injuries. In the French studies, 200 to 400 miligrams per day was the usual treatment dose of grape seed extract for various conditions. No adverse effects have been reported... consider getting a regular dose of OPCs from a bottle to ensure therapeutically adequate amounts.

(Please read to the bottom for important information from Dr. Clark Hansen's book "Grape Seed Extract")Melaleuca's Vitality for Life products ProVex, ProVex-Plus, and ProVexCV are all grape-seed products:ProVex - each capsule contains 25 mg. grape seed extract, plus 75 mg. citrus bioflavonoids.ProVex-Plus - each capsule contains 25 mg. grape seed extract, 30 mg. grape skin extract, 50 mg. citrus bio- flavonoids, 10 mg. ginkgo biloba extract (leaf), 10 mg. bilberry extract (berry).ProVexCV - each capsule contains a blend of the ingredients in ProVex-Plus, with the addition of quercetin (all together they total 349 mg.) Additionally, there is an enzyme blend (16 mg.) of proteases & bromelain.

According to some doctors, when taking grape-seed extract, you should begin with a "saturation" dosage of 25 mg. of grape-seed extract per 25 lbs. body weight. If you are well, continue this for 2 weeks. If you are not symptom-free, continue this until you are. After the "saturation" dose, take 25 mg. of grape-seed extract per 50 lbs. of body weight as a continuing "maintenance" dose. Ideally, you should spread your doses out during your waking hours, to assure that your tissues are constantly receiving the full benefit.Example: 150 lb. person would begin with 6 capsules a day; when symptom-free, that would decrease to 3 capsules daily. 50 lb. child would begin with 2/day; when symptom-free, that would decrease to 1/day.According to the quoted article, in the French studies they were routinely taking 8 - 16 capsules a day.

In the book "Grape Seed Extract", by Dr. Clark Hansen, the following conditions were improved by the addition of grape seed extract: Keeping skin youthful and supple, reducing cellulite & dimpling, stretch marks, & old scars; treating and preventing bruises, varicose veine, spider veins, phlebitis, purperea & leg ulcers, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid & psoriatic arthritis, allergies, ulcers, cardiovascular disease; preventing cancer, protecting DNA from oxidative damage and cell mutations; preventing tooth decay and preventing and healing gum disease; halting cataract progression, prevention & treatment of glaucoma, improvement in various types of retinal disease (including diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, hemorrhagic & hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration; reducing the progressive symptoms of MS; treating asthma and emphysema.

Dr. Hansen also documents the safety of grape-seed extract, stating that it is non-toxic, even at high doses of 132 mg. per pound of body weight per day for 12 months! (That is the equivalent to a 150 lb. person taking over 700 capsules a day!). He recommends 25 mg. per 25 lb. body weight as a saturation dosage, reducing to as little as half that when symptom free. However, he notes that the effective dosage may be much higher than that. For allergies, he suggests that 100 - 200 mg. may be taken 2 - 3 times daily for a few days, until the body stabalizes and is symptom-free. As an adjunct to cancer therapy, he recommends 150 - 200 mg., taken 4 times a day to enhance the immune response. He notes that these massive doses have not been shown to cause any harm. Grape seed works with the other known antioxidants, like vitamins E an C, as well as beta-carotene, bioflavonoids and certain enzymes to stop the damage caused by free radicals. It may work with vitamin E to potentiate the body's ability to fight and prevent cancer, by protecting cancer-fighters known as natural killer cells. It is also known to work synergistically with vitamin C to increase the length of time these cells are actively fighting cancer.

Dr. Hansen includes numerous case histories with testimonies from patients. (You can purchase his book and/or an audio cassette from R.M. Barry Publications) If you have found this information helpful, pass it along. Keep in mind that Cell-Wise is a basic antioxidant: it works like a primer coat on metal or wood. It is one of the basic necessities in maintaining or rebuilding our good health. The ProVex products are the super-antioxidants which work along with the basic antioxidants: like the top coat or sealer on metal or wood. Either, alone, is better than nothing. But, used together, they provide our best protection and/or hope for improvement. Along with the Vitality Pak, we have a complete program for achieving optimum health, long-term.
